I had been in the same exact position, and I learned trading for three years testing strategies on demos etc, I found out that my $400 initial investment didn't bring in worthwhile returns for the amount of effort I was putting in. I obviously understood that returns grows as the account equity grows, but when I was toiling away for weeks on end earning less than min wage for less. I started betting bigger above the investment size I outlined in my strategy, then I got lucky making some bigger wins i.e $500 a day and for a week and I started to think I'm the man. Then suddenly I was losing my position which was oversized as I got carried away with confidence and greed and I actually didn't know how to handle it and in a short matter of time. I went from $400 to $4500 started in the first few weeks with steady daily gains then got carried away and made huge gains.
