Typically, proper risk management involves not risking more than 2% of my equity per trade, hence I should not lose more than $60 on a single trade. I'm quite likely not to make more than that per winning trade too, If I can able to generate between 10-15% on a monthly basis, then I can say I'm the most successful trader and I would be happy with an income from trading that is around $3000 and $4500, if so I would consider it full time. If I'm looking for a long term investment $3000 will be sufficient as long as I don't spend nearly anytime on trading, hold some trade between 4-8 months and then get back to 20%.
